Let's talk about going meatless.
Okay not forever. Stop panicking.
Every now and then our bodies deserve a break. So in lieu of starvation diets, I have decided to not eat meat for a week out of the month. There are TONS of meatless options out there now so don't worry, you won't go hungry. I promise. I like to eat on Boca chicken patties or my new fave Beyond Meat Beef Crumbles. Now sometimes I just don't eat any soy products at all. There are times where I will just have a nice combo of veggies and a sweet potato. It all depends on my mood and level of savagery. I like meat, but I do get tired of it.
Beyond Meat has a nice meat like texture and cooks up very easily. It doesn't take long to heat up so make sure you have everything else ready. I have eaten it three times so far as a substitute for taco meat and have not been disappointed. I used Ortega Taco seasoning and also Aldi brand taco seasoning. The meat crumbles took on the seasoning very well and did not have an after taste whatsoever. It tastes like taco meat. I can't say that it tastes like beef or turkey or meat at all. But the texture of the crumbles and the seasoning makes me feel like I'm eating meat and that's what counts. I used some low carb wraps, guacamole, salsa, cheese and romaine lettuce to complete my meal.
Out of 5 stars, I give Beyond Meat all 5 for flavor, ease of cooking, price and packaging.
