  • 1½ cups of flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 375° and melt your butter into liquid form and let cool for a minute before adding it to your egg, sugar, light brown sugar and vanilla extract mixture. Mix all these items together with a wooden spoon until creamy. You can also use a mixer or hand mixer to make the process go a lot faster.

Next take your flour, salt and baking soda and mix in with your remaining ingredients until it becomes dough like. Last but not least add your chocolate chips. By hand separate your dough into about 18  balls or 9 balls if you want really big cookies. Place on your cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes or until a light golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes and serve with a cool glass of milk.
