This was my first time receiving a Birchbox. I had to know what all the hype was about. Around the second week of October my first box came in the mail. (!!!!) I was so excited to see what goodies had arrived for me to try.

As you see pictured here, your box comes in a pink and white box with the Birchbox symbol. Inside this box is a smaller box which contains your actual goodies.

This multi-color fall inspired box had 5 travel size items that included perfume, hair, face and makeup. The first night after receiving my box I wanted to try the Dr. Brandt pores no more cleanser (affiliate link). I have dry/oily skin and this cleanser was perfect because after washing my face it didn’t leave me feeling too dry or too oily. Afterwards I followed it with the Embryolisse lait-crème concentre (affiliate link) that is also for my particular skin type.

The next morning when I woke up to do my normal make up routine, my foundation glided onto my face effortlessly. I was amazed at how nice my face looked after the makeup application. A few days after completing this cleansing routine every night, I would wake up the following day just glowing. Even a few of my work girlfriends noted how youthful and flawless my skin looked without makeup!

On days that I did wear makeup, I tried the Mally Beauty volumizing mascara (affiliate link). Anyone who knows me, knows that I love a good mascara that can lengthen my eyelashes and make them look fuller. I must say I pretty impressed by this mascara and cannot believe I didn’t know about this product before and will definitely be purchasing this in the full size. I will admit when it came to using the hair product I was a little skeptical because I have natural hair and not everything works on my hair.
